Saint Seraphim Rose on the Old Calendarists: from 1962 to 1982 Since the repose of Saint Seraphim Rose in Platina, California, in 1982, his influential writings and letters have gained increasing prominence among Orthodox Christians in North America, transcending jurisdictional boundaries. Saint Seraphim, a hieromonk within the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, was renowned for his unwavering adherence to Orthodox tradition, his ascetic labors, and his sober-minded zeal for Holy Orthodoxy. Like the Holy Synod to which he was obedient, Saint Seraphim was a strong supporter of, and in eucharistic communion with, the True Orthodox Christians of Greece, commonly referred to as the Old Calendarists.
